visit for pokhara.

viwe of pokhara Pokhara is a most power destination in Nepal after kathmandu. Its fame rests on natural beautyof it's lekeside location and it's promity of the mountains not on a great historical or cultural endowmeent. It's the starting point forsome of the most famous treks in Nepal, or weary terkkers, that can be tabs around the vally.

Pokhara has an enormous number of good hotels and restaurants and although it is undoubtedly a tourist town. it has a relaxed and feaceful atmosphere, completely remared from hectic bustle of kathmandu and even further removed from the out right chaos of many Indian cities life. The climate is mild, incredible snowcapped mountain are reflected in a centred lake; cool western music from every restaurant; village life persists , but everyone speaks, english. Viewed from Pokhara, the Himalaya is indeed a migthy mountain range, lomming over thehorizon much closer than Kathmandu. Only foothill separate the town from the full hight of the mountain, and the magnificant 800m peaks of the Annnpurna range utterly terminate the viwe of north. The three large lakes, two of them, Rupatal and Begnastal, are slightly to the east of town while the third and largest, Phewa Tal, is the focal point for Pokhara's tourist industry. The autumn and winter temperatures and winter temperatures are generally much more comfortable then other place in Nepal.
Although the Pokhara valley is chiefly inhabited by Bahuns and chhtris, the hills around Pokara are perdominantly inhabited by Gurungs. Pokara'sdevelopment has been relatively recent and rapid only with the eradication of malaria in the 1950s did it become safe to live. The construction of the hydroelectric power dam in 1968 plus the building of the road to Kathmandu and the Indian border in the early 1970s, catapulted Pokhara into the 21st century.
